About the project

Connected hardware has a second expiration date.

A device can be physically sound and still lose its app, cloud, API, account service, cellular network, or security updates.

Device Lifecycle Index is a model-level, source-backed attempt to make those dependencies visible. Its core question is practical: will this device keep working, and what does it depend on?

What this pilot is

A small but real catalog spanning hard shutdowns, partial degradation, continuing local control, active support commitments, and unresolved cases. It proves the data and publication workflow before expanding the number of brands or categories.

What it is not

It is not a guarantee, a live service-status monitor, a security certification, or a replacement for manufacturer support. It does not accept manufacturer payment for lifecycle assessments, and future commercial links must remain separate from factual claims.

Why static-first

The public site contains no accounts, customer database, comments, persistent user profiles, or advertising trackers. Structured data is validated and converted into fast static pages. Privacy-light Cloudflare analytics may count aggregate page views, referrers, coarse geography, device type, and replacement-link clicks; it does not collect names, email addresses, or account information.

Reviewable work

The project's data policy, schema, source-check pipeline, and validation tests keep lifecycle evidence reviewable. The code repository is currently private, so this site does not link visitors to an inaccessible page.
